Money Sink

My Xmas present to Sharon was a car. It stretched the budget a touch, and we couldn't afford anything flash. With just a budget of £500 (I still hadn't started work) we managed to find a Citroen AX 1.4 TRZ and I thought we'd lucked on to a bit of a bargain.
'S funny with old cars though. A further £200 went straight away on a full service and cam-belt change. Sharon had her first accident in the ice 3 weeks ago and that cost us £400 (the damage was more than you would normally have expected due to some hidden rust giving way causing the front end to buckle. And yesterday, as Sharon was driving to hospital for a check up (not something I want to talk about right now) it just stopped. No explanation. It just stopped.
I was an hour away and unable to make it back. Luckily my Mum & Dad were around to rescue her.
We checked it over today and the alternator has given up the ghost. Not too expensive to replace but already the thing has cost us £1,100. We could have bought a much better car for that. One that's far less likely to let her down like that.
Life's a bummer like that.

ive got a ax 14 tzr and it is brilliant in every way, not only did it cost me f**k all but a year later it sill only ows me £70 which is what i paid for it.As a merchanic i know from experience that ax's never rust due to the fact that most of them is plastic but the bits that are steel hardly ever rust and although they may not be the easyest car to work on they never normally go wrong so you or your wife obviously dont know how to look after a car or if it was bad you should have checked it out when you bought it so its your fault and not down to the car if you had £1100 to spend on it you didnt need to buy a £500 car and who in the rite mind would spen £1100 on a old ax anyway.bored of your incopetence now bye
