The UK experienced its strongest earthquake for over 10 years last night. At around about 1am Sharon and I were woken by a strong shaking. I thought a plane had flown very low or an extremely big truck had driven past the house (not that one would fit up our road) but when there was nothing outside I realised it must have been a tremor.
Registering about 4.8 on the Richter scale, the epicentre was about 30 miles away from us in Dudley. Thankfully no one was hurt.
For many people across the world a minor tremor like this is a regular occurence, but this is the first one I can ever remember experiencing.
