A patient calls late Friday to inquire about a test result. You're only a lab technician and can't tell the patient he's healthy and needn't worry all weekend. Do you break the rules?
No. I'm only a lab technician and whilst I might understand what the test results mean in isolation, only his doctor will understand the full picture and what the results mean for this particular patient.
A good friend is a bouncer at a Mafia-owned club. He urgently needs a place to hide. Do you hide him?
No way. I've got a family and, if he's any sort of friend, he wouldn't be asking. I might help him out a little, make phone calls for him, give him a lift etc.
Your friendly hairdresser has the sniffles and unconsciously wipes his nose with his hand. You're having a haircut. Do you say something?
If it only happened the once then it's hardly worth causing a fuss over is it? If it was a regular thing then I'd probably still not mention it but wouldn't be back. Having said that, my hairstyle is an all over grade 3, so I'm not sure what I'm doing there in the first place ;-)
