Tomorrow is Connor's naming ceremony and this weekend has pretty much revolved around the preparations.
I've spent today organising barbecues, putting up gazebos and generally preparing my Mum & Dad's new house for the 100 or so people that are attending tomorrow.
The weather has been absolutely gorgeous today, if anything a little too warm. I just hope it stays that way tomorrow.
I've been trying to write a speech for a non-religious naming ceremony but it's not that easy. There's precious little info available on the net.
This guide to an Australian Naming Ceremony, carried out by an official "celebrant" has a few ideas I may crib.
Tom's Toasts has some interesting toasts I could make. I particularly like "Four blessings upon you... Older whiskey, Younger women, Faster horses, More money." but I don't think it's appropriate.
There are some Wedding Toasts that could be edited quite easily.
Hope everything went smoothly :) Including the toast/speech. Planning on posting any photos?
Everything went superbly. A post and photos will arrive as soon as I can repair my computer.
I wonder if you can help? I have been asked to give a speech at my brothers naming ceremony at the end of the month, what do I say, I agree there's nothing on the net.
Regards
Graham
