Italy v Europe

Italy's Silvio Berlusconi continues to pour oil onto the fire of intra-European relationships. He is to diplomacy what Danny la Rue is to subtlety.

According to a short animated guide to the difference between Italy and other Europeans, their president is not the only one who doesn't think like the rests of us.

From my visits around Italian weblogs I notice a fair percentage refer to Berlusconi as 'a clown'.

The thing about political 'power' is that it's worth nothing if you get to the position where you can't apply it. Reputation oftens gets better results than sheer power.

Besides, he's making some very big enemies so quickly seems the poor fella's after a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
