Phew

The very nice man at the key-cutting booth at our local market was able to cut a new car key from the two halves of the old one thus giving me back the use of my car the same day and saving me a possible £100 to change all of the locks.

Yey for him! And for Sharon who had to walk to the market in the pouring rain because I had her car. Unfortunately, half way there "some f*cker" (her words not mine) managed a clichéd comedy moment when he drove through a huge puddle at high speed soaking Sharon right through. Needless to say, I wasn't her favourite person at that moment, or later when I laughed as she described it to me.

you'd think people would understand that yes, driving through huge puddles at fast speeds does splash water?! one rainy day walking from my workplace to the bank to the bus stop last year, i had not one but at least five vehicles drive by and splash me. i was horribly soaked and shivering by the time i got home. even worse, one of the vehicles was the city bus that didn't stop for me even though i was waving frantically only a yard from the physical bus stop. *he* was not my favourite person that day! i feel for sharon. *hugs*

go give that key man a cupcake, he deserves your love. :)
