Getting Old

I have today removed the banner link in my left hand column for The Ageless Project. Jenett has I feel unfairly removed my site from the listing there despite me being a long time supporter with permanent links to the Project prominently displayed on every page of my Blog.

For a long time this weblog was not only listed at The Project but also linked from its front page because of the link back. I have visited occasionally to peruse the list of blogs there but on my last visit couldn't find the entry for aardvark.dj.

I read the rules for inclusion and couldn't see that I had broken any of them so I assumed it was a technical hitch. I sent an email to Jenett to confirm it would be ok to re-submit this site for entry.

My weblog at http://www.arseburgers.co.uk/blog/ was until recently listed as part of the ageless project. Indeed, it was listed on the home page as one of the supporters as I have a banner posted to the index page.

It has recently disappeared from the listing. I can see no reason for this as I do not contrevene any of the rules, no pop-ups, no ads, no resumes and just a couple of small links ot commercial sites with which I'm involved. The content is not offensive, although possibly banal to the point of objection at times.

Am I free to re-submit the site for inclusion?

I was encouraged to receive a quick reply. I was disappointed when I read that reply.

The following warning is shown on all pages of the ageless project:

"There's a limit of one listing per person or site. Multiple submissions from the same person or site may result in the immediate removal of the existing listing for that person or site."

You won't be added back in.

I don't recall submitting this site twice. Sure, about 6 months ago I moved from Blogspot to my own hosting and therefore changed URL. I did submit the new site but I also requested that the old site be deleted. As there is no way to do that via the site I sent an email, to the same address as the email I sent above. so I replied.

Do you mean that my site has been listed twice before? If so, it was
unintentional or done without my knowledge. I do not believe that the
site has been submitted twice.

About 6 months ago I moved my site from a Blogspot site to my own URL.
At that time I submitted my new site and sent you an email requesting
deletion of the old address.

Seems fair huh? I thought so. Nope, apparently not.

You didn't send me an email requesting the original site be removed. At
least, I never received such an email. That's why you were removed. Sorry,
but the rules are posted for a reason and I'm not making an exception for

So, what can you do?

I had this huge rant brewing, but I can't be arsed. Angry statements about little Hitlers and the like, but that's probably unfair. It took me a coupe of days to get round to writing this and I'm not angry about it any more, just a bit disappointed. It's a shame. I thought it was quite a good idea. I don't join too many "rings" as you can see because a lot of them don't really seem to have a point. But this one had an idea behind it.
