Everything went well yesterday and it was all over with the minimum of fuss.
We arrived just before 8am (Sharon had to come because I was advised not to drive home) and I was in the operating theatre by 9.30.
The worst part of the whole operation was the anaesthetic injection. After that, it was just the indignity of lying on your back whilst a bloke poked around at your bits. But then women have to do that regularly when they get a smear test, so I guess its no biggy.
Once I'd been wheeled back to the ward the nurses gave me a cup of tea and some toast and then told me I had to stay for an hour and until I'd had a piss. After that, they checked the wound and let me go.
Yesterday afternoon and today I feel a little bruised, like someone kneed me in the knackers yesterday but it's not too uncomfortable. All in all, a damn site easier that Sharon having an operation.
Training exercises? Well, I'll be firing blanks from now on.
