See you in heaven

If I believed in such a notion, I reckon I'd be going straight to Hell when I die. So, the opportunity to Buy Into Heaven sounds good.

Of course, it's nothing new. Historically monasteries made all of their income by charging the well off to pray on their behalf. The thinking was that the more pious your life, the better your prayers and Monks lived a more pious life than most. So aristocrats and royalty who had plenty of evils to requiring penance paid teams of monks to pray on their behalf hence guaranteeing entry to heaven.
