Amarost

I first came across Amarost about 6 months ago, but it was a link that had no context. Consequently I took a quick look and decided it was just one of those cute but weird flash toys that litter the net. An animated calling card / demo for the creators.

I came across it again today with a link describing it as a puzzle game. Well, that puts it in a totally different light, it gives it a purpose and an intrigue. This time I really appreciated it.

As a game it's a little analogue but if you're looking to while away 20 to 30 minutes you could do much worse than this. The visuals are truly excellent too.
