Whilst reading Say What? it occurred to me to check how many spam comments MT Blacklist is blocking for me.
I last reset my activity log on the evening of 24 July 2004. I cut and paste the entire log into MS Word this morning and altered the font and page size so that each entry took up just one line. Then I used Word's "Word Count" function to tell me how many lines there were.
How many in 20 days do you reckon? Take a look after the jump.......

Highlight the following for the answer:
One thousand four hundred and eighteen! F*ck me sideways! 1418!
OK, so some of those are me logging in to MT and posting entries and some are people using the site's search facility (and some weird searches there are too). But still, I guess that over 95% of those are MT Blacklist or IP Throttling blocking comment spam.
