We went to Colchester Zoo today to see my adopted aardvarks.
3 hours each way with 3 kids in the car, it was actually a lot less painful than I was expecting. The zoo itself was excellent. We were there for over 6 hours and still didn't get chance to see everything we could have.
Our adopted aardvarks were decidedly underwhelmed by our arrival. Like the nocturnal creatures they are they slept through our whole visit (although Adela, the male, did stir and raise his head at one point late in the day).
We have pictures of the day. The one's of the aardvarks are not too spectacular. Unfortunately our camera's USB cable has packed up so I can't download them. I'll post some as soon as I can.
