Crash and Burn

OK, so I said that the entires may be few and far between because of the amount I was working. I didn't realise that they would only become scarce once I'd actually finished working. In fact, everything has become scarce since I stopped working.

It's strange the way the body works. If you class a day at work as one "shift" and a disco as one "shift" I have effectively worked 27 shifts in the first 23 days of the month followed immediately by a proper family Christmas and, like a fool, I tried to squeeze in some traditional Christmas socialising too. Then on Boxing Day (26 December for non-Brits) it all stopped. I was working neither during the day nor in the evening.

At that point it appears that my body and brain packed up too. I've not been ill or anything. Just completely unable to motivate myself to do anything apart from the most essential stuff. Items that could have been resolved in minutes have lain undone, chores that would take no time at all if done immediately have been allowed to pile up to the point now where it will task a major effort to bring them back in to line. And blog entries have been non-existent.

During the course of a normal week there are usually 10 to 20 blog entries I plan but don't write. Links I see and add to my bookmarks for later, personal stuff I want to tell you about or rants and opinions I need to get of my chest. this week there's been nothing. Not even the germ of an idea for an entry. Until about 2am last night when I started writing this one in my head.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I hope tonight is the start of a wonderful new year and I wish for you that next year's worst day is the equal of this year's best.

I will be working, again. And I may be socialising. And tomorrow I may be sleeping.
