I've made some minor changes to the site this evening.
Firstly I've added details of the category each entry is filed under to the front page, monthly archive pages and individual archive pages. It's down there on the bottom right of the entry (unless your reading this in the monthly archive that is)
Secondly, I've changed the monthly and category archives to contain only excerpts of each entry. This is mainly to reduce bandwidth usage. The monthly archives were coming up quite highly in Google searches so were using up a lot of bandwidth. By including only the excerpts it reduces the file size of the archive page, excludes the pictures and should stop the pages coming up in Google results. I have no problems with individual entries coming up in Google searches. That's what it's all about after all and the pages are much smaller than the monthly and category archives.
Finally, I've reduced the size of the CSS file courtesy of flumpCakes' Online CSS Optimiser. I've tested the new CSS file on Firefox and IE and reviewed it manually so it shouldn't cause any problems but let me know if anything seems broken.
Just thought you should know: the Blogsnob banner in the sidebar is indeed showing as a banner, at least in Firefox i.e. it's about 2.5 times the width of the sidebar itself, and overlapping into the main text column.
Is it still playing up now? Could you take another look. I'm using Firefox 1.0 on my laptop and it looks fine on that.
I'm guessing that there was a problem with the blogsnob ads at the time you visited. It wouldn't be the first time they've broken.
However, if it's still playing up when you come back again then I'm obviously wrong. As I can't repeat the problem here, could you send me a screen grab at all?
Perhaps you should try to validate your site?
