All over

Well the contemporaneous bit failed as soon as the pressure was on.

To be honest, I expected Sharon to be in the operating theatre for long enough for me to ring all the family, grab a decent dinner and update the blog. However, by the time I got back to her room to start writing an update they'd already wheeled her back to the ward. Just over an hour she was in theatre.

After that I'm afraid I was more concerned with looking after her than blogging. Sorry. Priorities.

Well, under pressure from Sharon, the consultant agreed that she could go home provided she ate, drank and wasn't in too much pain during the next 3 hours. At 10 o'Clock on the dot we convinced them to release her and we were home in time for the results of Comic Relief does Fame Academy.

She's feeling a little rough but better than I would have expected. We're both bloody knackered though.
