Custom Oak Tables - New Web Design Project

I'm working on a new web design project for a friend of mine: Pete Shingler's Home Made Solid Oak Tables. There's nothing there at the moment but the site will showcase the oak tables that Pete makes by hand. It's not going to be my most technically advanced website because I'm teaching Pete HTML and he wants to be able to maintain the site himself. Still, it's another nice challenge. How good can we get it looking whilst using only the most basic HTML.

Textpattern might be usefull, if he wants to update it himself.

And do please stress the importance of validation :)
