Large multinationals are accused of many evil things but it's rarely as clear cut as that.
McDonald's is criticised for ruining the dietary habits of children but it also employs a much higher percentage of unskilled workers than many other companies. The presence of a successful McDonalds in a deprived area can improve the economy of the whole area.
Nike are criticised for using child labour in it's factories in developing countries. But many of these children are their families' only earners. Without the factory the families would have no income at all.
