I spent last night at a wedding fayre at the Village Hotel & Leisure Club, Coventry. 3 hours in a room full of prospective brides dragging their future husbands to look at wedding dresses, cakes, chocolate fountains and the like.
Half way through the evening there was a "fashion show", a display of outfits and wedding dresses from the main exhibitioners.

Unfortunately very few people book discos at wedding fayres so I don't do that many of them.
The organiser only started doing weekday evening wedding fayres last year. Traditionally wedding fayres have always been held on Sundays. Unfortunately Sunday wedding fayres attract young unmarried couples who are toying with the idea of getting married (or, at least, the woman is) and they come out as something to do for the day. Evening wedding fayres seem to attract a higher percentage of couples who are actually interested in booing services.
Still, discos seem to be an after thought. I think I've snagged one booking from last night's fayre. And that's a 90th birthday party not a wedding.
