Daylight

In the space of a week the time at which I drag myself out of bed in the morning has gone from bright (for non-UK readers substitute weak & washy) sunlight to total darkness. Sunset is also starting to occur before I get home from work. This is soooo unfair and very depressing.

With effect from tomorrow I intend to start work on a device that will reverse the encroachment of darkness onto my waking hours. I intend to set sunrise at no later than 6.30am and sunset at no earlier than 10.30pm. Eight hours of darkness should be more than enough for anyone.

Any objections should be noted in the comments here but will probably be ignored.

Alternatively, I may just get up later and go to bed earlier and pretend I've changed the sunrise and sunset. Consequently I may be slightly late for morning appointments, including arriving at work and slightly early for evening appointments, including leaving work. My next task is to work out how to fit 16 hours worth of activity into the winter hours of daylight.

I hope that it will be "time zone friendly." I'd hate for it to be daylight at 2:30 AM where I live.

It's dark, dank and bloody miserable where I am (Scotland) and any attempt at making a difference will be appreciated. p.s. It chucks it down every year in October so WHY has everything started flooding in my area (Fettes, Cowgate, Canongate etc.etc. ad nauseum)?

Perhaps what you need is flu medicine of the daynurse and nightnurse variety.

On waking take the daynurse, when you need to sleep take the nightnurse.

16 hours of activity may be compressed to 8 with the aid of coffee (or the stimulant of your choice).

"Perhaps what you need is flu medicine of the daynurse and nightnurse variety."

Can't I just have a nurse? The kind that you used to get in Carry On films.... but not the Matron. Barbara Windsor in her 20s but without that annoying laugh.
