For the second time this year a tornado has hit the area immediately around my office, King's Heath and Moseley. And for the second time the tornado has completely failed to hit the office and give me a day off work.

Although the news reports suggest the tornado hit at 8pm last night, the weather in the area was unusual all day. In the mid-afternoon the wind outside our office was so strong that leaves were streaming off the trees like smoke trails. Lumpy, brown and green smoke trails I'll grant you, but you get the impression. Add to that an inch of rain in just an hour and you can see it was pretty miserable here yesterday.
Yes. I'm aware that this weather is pretty tame compared to what others experience regularly. It's pretty extreme for this area though.
