Poo Chart

The Bristol Stool Form Scale - A guide to your poo.

poo-chart

This accompanied some of the medication that Sharon was given when she left hospital so that she could self medicate. I refused to assist with diagnosis.

my poo is a 7! should i be worried and what can i do about this!! will this kill me??

katie said on January 18, 2007 4:38 PM:

you should be worried, it can't kill you but you need more fibre in your diet. fibre rich foods include bran flakes, oats, fruit and veg!
cut out all sugary, fatty foods, or ones packed with carbs such as bread, pasta, biscuits and potatoes

Thank you x for the poo chart x my friend has bein having poo trouble x and it was very heplful x keep up the good poo chart but could you put what each poo means please x thank you once again x

Is a poo supposed to be a floater or a sinker, I have heard a floater is healthier is this true? Also I did a poo today and it had undigested sweetcorn in it, is this bad? will it kill me? How many times a week should I be pooing? A speedy reply would be helpful as I am very concerned about my pooing behaviour!!

hi should poo float... what does it mean. thanxs

Well Matt Hynes, I can answer all your questions (a fact which surprised me)

1. A 'floater' floats as it contains alot of fat as apposed to fibrous matter which is heavier and sinks. Vegetarians tend to have sinkers.
2. Dont worry about tue sweetcorn, the husk of sweetcorn is undigestable so thats why you can see it in your poo (also the case with some seed husks)
3.Also apparently a healthy digestion system should poo three times a day!! Though once a day is acceptable. If your not pooing this much, problems could be dehydration (drink 2l water a day and less alcohol/coffee and sugary drinks) or not enought fibre (try fruit and veg with skin on and wholegrain foods)
Oh take Aloe Vera juice a natural laxitive.
