Horse Racing and Texas at Newmarket
Last Friday, 4 August, Sharon and I went to Newmarket Races with my boss and work colleagues.
Sharon and I bet about £20 a time on each of the 6 races of the evening, a total of £120, but managed to win back around £90 - mostly due to a work colleague who had spent a few days studying form. Not bad.
After the races, Texas performed for an hour. Can't say its really my type of music, but they were very good. Somehow I managed to arrive at the end of the night reasonably sober, unlike some of the others.
I've never been to the horse races before and the opportunity to make a whole evening of it with a concert afterwards was excellent. I was surprised at how easy it was to get the hang of using the on-course bookies. We had a superb evening.
