The last month or so has been a difficult one for me. Following a whirlwind interview process but a protracted wait for a formal job offer, I've been offered and accepted a new job as VAT Manager with Dains, an accountancy form local to where I live.
I've been very happy at VATease for the last 3 1/2 years. The company and work colleagues have been excellent and the synergy with my own attitude and character was almost complete. However, the 2 1/2 to 3 hours travelling each day has become a real drag. The opportunity to improve my skill set in the new role is an extra attraction but the fact that the office is just 20 to 30 minutes away will have an incredibly positive effect on my home and family life.
The decision to leave VATease has been one of the hardest of my working life and it will be a very sad day when I leave. But I look forward to starting my new role in just under 3 weeks.
