So here's my sad tale that led to nearly 11 months of not blogging. Don't go expecting Gone with the Wind or anything.........
As suggested by my post of 11 July last year, by the middle of the year I was just about blogged out.
Despite a new job, life had taken a nasty turn when someone close to me was attacked. That nasty turn affected my whole family and coloured the whole of 2007.
Then in July the webserver my sites are located on fell victim to a spambot, which in turn just about crippled my host. The entire server (and all the hosts other servers) had to be rebuilt by hand and the fallout from that took many months to overcome. With a number of the other sites on my server being business sites they took priority with this being almost last in line.
At this point I decided to abandon my blog and other online presences and concentrate on my family. At about this time the blogphiles domain name expired. Unfortunately, as I was not attending to my emails it got bought by a spam site. By the time I realised, it was too late.
Then, to cap off a shite year, my Mum had a massive brain hemorrhage on 20 December and died on Christmas eve.
Life is, slowly, returning to normal. I am about to change job again, to a role that is more within my comfort zone so that I can concentrate on spending time with my family and dealing with my personal issues.
So, onwards and upwards. That's the sum total of my blogging about the last 18 months. It won't appear again.
I have recently wanted to return to blogging, but it has taken a couple of months to get MT running again. Finally last night i overcame the last of the issues preventing MT from publishing new entries and viola.
It may not be fully functioning for a short while. Thanks to Elle (and a small number of comment spammers) I can happily confirm that comments are back online and blocking most of the unwanted ones.
